Acrylic Polymer Resin (APR)

Acrylic Polymer Resins (in 2026) refer to a broad category of synthetic plastic materials derived from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and their esters. Since “Acrylic Polymer” covers a vast range from solid beads to liquid emulsions, the data below represents the standard Thermosetting/Thermoplastic Acrylic Solution used in coatings and adhesives.

Description

A clear, viscous liquid (solution) or transparent solid pellets. It is characterized by high clarity, UV stability, and weather resistance.

Uses

Automotive clear coats, architectural paints, signage (Plexiglass), dental fillers, and high-performance adhesives.

Benefits

Exceptional optical clarity, non-yellowing characteristics, and superior resistance to UV radiation and environmental weathering.

Storage & Packaging Recommendations: Store between 15°C and 25°C. If it freezes, it must be thawed very carefully with tempered water (max 35°C) to avoid localized overheating and polymerization. Never use steam for thawing. Packaging: Polyethylene-lined steel drums, HDPE drums, or stainless steel ISO tanks.
Product Stewardship Acrylic acid is susceptible to violent runaway polymerization. It must be inhibited (typically with MEHQ) and stored under an atmosphere containing 5–21% oxygen.
Note Always monitor inhibitor levels. If the liquid freezes, the inhibitor may be excluded from the crystals, creating a high-risk zone upon thawing.
Notice This profile is based on 2026 industrial standards. You must consult the Official Safety Data Sheet (SDS) from your specific supplier before any physical handling.
