Description
Delhi OGR Coating ECO-FRIENDLY is a high-performance, water-based oil- and grease-resistant functional barrier coating developed from an aqueous acrylic-styrene copolymer dispersion. Formulated by Delhi Chemicals for paper and paperboard food packaging, it forms a continuous, flexible protective film that provides excellent resistance to oil, grease, liquid water and moisture vapour while maintaining good crease integrity, heat-sealability and compatibility with water-based flexographic inks. It is suitable for paper cups, soup bowls, takeaway containers, burger wraps, bakery trays, cupstock, kraft paper and corrugated fresh-food packaging. The coating can be applied using flexographic, gravure, air-knife or rod-coating equipment and supports efficient processing with forced warm-air or infrared drying systems. Typical performance includes KIT 10–12 grease resistance, low Cobb water absorption, controlled water-vapour transmission and Grade 0 blocking resistance when applied and dried under recommended conditions. Its water-based, PFAS-free, repulpable and recyclable design makes it a sustainable alternative to conventional polyethylene lamination and fluorochemical grease barriers. Final performance depends on the substrate, coat weight, drying profile and converting conditions, so production trials should confirm the required barrier, printing, sealing and recycling performance.
Uses
Benefits
Oil and grease resistance up to KIT 10–12; Cobb 30-minute water absorption below 5.0 g/m²; WVTR below 25.0 g/m²/day at 38°C and 90% RH; heat sealability at 110–140°C; non-blocking performance; good crease integrity; water-based, PFAS-free positioning; repulpable and recyclable paper-packaging design.
Application Benefits
Recommended wet coat weight is 16–20 gsm, yielding approximately 7–9 gsm dry coat weight. The coating is fast-drying, film-forming, heat-sealable and over-printable with water-based flexographic inks. Use forced warm air or IR drying and achieve a web temperature of 90–105°C for complete film coalescence. Clean equipment with warm water immediately after use.

| NOTE | Typical technical values apply at 8–10 gsm dry coat weight on standard 250 GSM kraft/cupstock. Performance depends on substrate, coat weight, drying profile and equipment; validate water, grease, WVTR, blocking, crease and heat-seal performance in production trials. |
| NOTICE | Information is based on the supplied Delhi Chemicals technical data. Users must confirm current regulatory documentation, food-contact suitability, specifications and process performance for the intended packaging application before commercial use. |
Compliance & Standards
Certificate
Supplier-stated compliance: US FDA 21 CFR 176.170 and 176.180 for direct food contact; PFAS/PFOS/PFOA-free; heavy-metal requirements under IS 9873 and EN 71-3. COA, SDS and TDS should be confirmed for the supplied batch and grade.
Safety
Water-based industrial coating. Avoid skin and eye contact and use suitable gloves and eye protection. Provide normal workplace ventilation, prevent uncontrolled release to drains, and follow the current SDS for handling, spill response and disposal.
